The couple first started dating in 2012, and had an on-off relationship before finally separating in February last year.
However, they have recently been spotted together on a number of occasions, leading to speculation that they are giving their romance another try.
According to US Weekly, earlier this month the couple were seen enjoying a dinner date in Beverly Hills, before going back to Perry's home. Then, last weekend, they were said to have been on a double-date with 'Girls' star Allison Williams and her fiancé Ricky Van Veen.
Before the couple went on any dates though, they are said to have visited Perry's therapist.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "They're open to working through their issues. John and Katy connect on a deep level."
