The former Coronation Street actress announced she was expecting her first child with footballer Scott Sinclair in December. Now, the 24-year-old has admitted starting a family has been something the couple were planning.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "Scott's known I've wanted to be a mum since pretty early in our relationship. So when I turned 24 we both felt it was our time to finally have our baby.
"A mum really is everything I've genuinely wanted to be. I think it's the best thing you can be! I'm convinced it's a boy – I love the name Flynn."
However, it hasn't been a pleasant pregnancy for the young mum-to-be so far, as she confessed she had been suffering from severe morning sickness.
"I'm getting better now," she added, "but I've never known anything like it. I've only really been sick from hangovers but you feel like you've got a constant hangover.
"I couldn't get out of bed some days because I was throwing up so much. At the most I'd be sick five times a day. I literally didn't leave the flat for ages."
Flanagan has been in an on-off relationship with 25-year-old Sinclair for five years. However, the actress has said the couple are "very compatible" and looking forward to becoming parents.
She added: "Scott will be a great birthing partner too. He's so calm and together. Plus because the baby's due in June, which is off-season, he'll be around to help out with the baby. I know he'll be a fantastic dad."
