According to the New York Post's Page Six, the couple are "excited" at becoming parents.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring."
Cumberbatch, 38, first announced his engagement to Ms Hunter, 36, in November 2014. A classified advertisement in The Times newspaper read: "Mr B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London."
The couple first met in 2009 when they starred opposite each other in Burlesque Fairytales, but they were only spotted together publicly in June 2014 when they attended the French Open. They have yet to officially comment on the speculation.
