Rory McIlroy is reportedly in a new relationship.
The World Number 1 golfer is said to be dating Erica Stoll, a PGA employee.
McIlroy, 25, and Ms Stoll first met – and hit the headlines in 2012 – after the 27-year-old came to the sportsman's aid.
The golfer, who hails from Holywood in Northern Ireland, was almost disqualified from the Ryder Cup in 2012 when he reportedly slept in after mixing up his tee-off time. In order for him to get to the course at Medinah, Illinois, on time, Ms Stoll arranged for a police escort to take him to the venue.
Ms Stoll, from Naples in Florida, is manager of Championship Volunteer Operations at the PGA of America, and it is now thought the pair have since stayed in touch, with their friendship turning into romance.
Neither party has commented on the claims, but on New Year's Eve, McIlroy fuelled speculation he had moved on from his ex-fiancée Caroline Wozniacki. The golfer posted an image to Instagram which showed two glasses of champagne at the lavish Ashford Castle Hotel in Co Mayo. It has since been claimed that he and Ms Stoll saw in the new year together at the resort.
According to local media, the couple are thought to have been dating for over three months now, but are keen to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.
