McDaid, 37, and who is from Londonderry, was spotted with the actress and her daughter Coco in an LA airport on Valentine's Day. The rocker was protectively holding the little girls' hand, prompting further speculation that Coco had approved of the couple's relationship.
The pair, who met through mutual friend and musician Ed Sheeran, have been dating since September 2013, and it was recently reported that McDaid had moved in with the actress.
A source is quoted by US Magazine as saying: "Courteney is already talking marriage. They're very serious."
A source also told Grazia magazine: "Johnny went home to Ireland over New Year while Courteney headed to Mexico with Jennifer Aniston.
"The time apart made her realise how serious she is about him and as soon as she got home she asked him to live with her.
"This is the happiest Courteney has been in a long time."
McDaid originally hails from Derry in Northern Ireland, but is currently based in Los Angeles. Cox, 49, was previously married to actor David Arquette. The pair tied the knot in June 1999 and welcomed a daughter, Coco, in June 2004. In October 2010, it was revealed that Cox and Arquette had separated, with the latter filing for divorce in June 2012. Their separation was finalised in May 2013.
