Some 1,000 tradesmen were asked by IronmongeryDirect, supplier of ironmongery products to the trade as part of its Valentine's Day promotion, and also revealed that one in four had actually been invited on a date by a customer. A further 48% said they would accept an offer if it was made.
When it comes to impressing a partner, 93% admitted they wouldn't think twice about buying a gift to mark Valentine's Day. The most popular choice was chocolates, with sic in 10 buying a sweet treat for their other half; while flowers came in second (25%), followed by a romantic night out (10%).
Wayne Lysaght-Mason, Managing Director at IronmongeryDirect, said: "Despite the misconception, tradesmen are a romantic bunch and appear to have no shortage of offers when it comes to Valentine's Day dates.
