In an interview with Reveal magazine, the 30-year-old explained that it just "doesn't really bother" her.
The mother-to-be went on to say why she isn't phazed. In 2008, Katie was the victim of an acid attack at the hands of her controlling ex-boyfriend Danny Lynch. The attack left her permanently disfigured as the acid melted away her left ear and eyelids, leaving her blind in one eye. Her throat, arms, hands, neck, cleavage and lungs were also damaged and she has since had to undergo 200 operations.
In her own words, Piper said: "I've been through lots of medical procedures and lots of physical difficulties and now I'm going through physical difficulties with an amazing outcome so it doesn't really bother me.
"I definitely feel my life right now is at a high point compared to the extreme lows definitely. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing as a career, I'm thrilled the foundation is going from strength to strength.
"Personally in my life I'm at a point where I didn't know I'd ever be so it's really amazing. I'm really grateful."
Piper is expecting a baby girl with her long-time partner James.
