In an interview with Hello! magazine, the dancer added that the pair had been spending a lot of time apart due to her appearances in London's West End show, 'Burn The Floor', while the former boxer spent his time in Wales.
She revealed: "He was sick and tired of waiting around for me, and said that if I truly loved him, I wouldn't have taken the job in the West End.
"I'm confused, because he know how much it takes to be the best at your career.
"I said, 'Why didn't you tell me not to do 'Burn the Floor?'
"But he said he understood it wouldn't be fair to ask me to stop my job, that he knows that I support my family and love what I do."
She also admitted that the couple wanted different things in their future, with Calzaghe – who is already a father to sons Joe and Connor with his ex-wife Mandy Davies – didn't want any more children, but Rhianoff did want to have a family.
"Joe had his children when he was younger and they are absolutely wonderful boys, but he felt it wasn't for him anymore," she explained.
"I was raised in a traditional Russian Orthodox way and have always wanted children."
Last month, Calzaghe confirmed he has separated from his girlfriend of four years.
He added that the split was "amicable", but "various demands on time have meant we have spent less and less time together."
The couple first met in 2009 when they teamed up for BBC talent show, Strictly Come Dancing.
