Grande added: "We hesitated saying anything as people can be a bit insensitive but thank you ♡ we value all of your happiness, thank you for valuing ours :)".
Earlier this month, Grande, who is also 20, denied the pair were dating, but images of the young couple holding hands at Disneyland emerged this week.
The pair were first romantically linked after they released a duet, 'Almost Is Never Enough', from the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones soundtrack.
Grande has previously said she and Sykes were friends, adding: "No, no - we're not dating. He's the sweetest. He's amazing."
