The 29-year-old socialite confirmed the news in an interview with Hello! magazine.
She said: "I just feel so lucky. I never imagined this all happening so quickly. It's crazy how life works in such mysterious ways. Jay loves children and I'm really excited for the next phase of our relationship."
Ecclestone married 32-year-old former stockbroker Jay Rutland in June.
He added: "Its been an amazing year, meeting and marrying my beautiful wife. Now we are expecting our first child and looking forward to the next step together."
The socialite added that she hoped to take after her own parents - mother Slavica and Formula One boss father Bernie Ecclestone - when it comes to raising her child and insisted she wouldn't be spoiling the new addition with gifts.
"I think you can spoil a child with love rather than showering them with materialistic things. I want to do all the things my mother did... Mum was thrilled [by the news], as was my dad. He loves babies."
In June, the couple held an extravagant ceremony on the French Rivera to mark their union, before holding a smaller service in London to make their marriage official.
They announced their engagement in February 2013 – just one month after they started dating.
