The 26-year-old Coronation Street actress confirmed the news via her Twitter account today (Monday).
She wrote: "THANKYOU for all the lovely messages, and yes it's true @markwright_ and I are engaged !! We are so SO happy :-) xxx".
Wright, also 26, proposed to his girlfriend during a romantic holiday in Dubai over the weekend.
The confirmation from the couple follows rumours that they were planning to tie the knot.
A source was also quoted by the MailOnline as saying: "It was a really big surprise for Michelle. Mark proposed to her on the beach during their holiday in Dubai."
According to reports, former TOWIE star Mark spared no expense with the engagement ring, choosing a five-carat diamond for Keegan.
The couple first started dating in December 2012 at a New Year's Eve party in Dubai.
Both Keegan and Wright have been engaged before.
Wright was formerly engaged to his TOWIE co-star Lauren Goodger, but the couple split in August 2011 following claims that Goodger had cheated on him.
Keegan was previously engaged to The Wanted's Max George, but she called off their relationship in July 2012. Initially, they blamed their busy work schedules, but it later emerged that George had been 'sexting' his ex-girlfriend during his relationship with the Corrie actress.
